What are model 17 no dashes going for?
I saw one in a local shop today that is in good condition a little muzzle wear about 1/8 of an inch. blueing wear on sharp edge at the bottom of the yoke. but other wise real clean. It does have target stocks in real good condition.
I would say overall 95%
No box or anything.
they are asking $650. I have never had any luck dickering in this shop. so I would say that price is firm.

I don't have a model 17, so it probably won't take much nudging.

Thanks

That is a good deal. Buy it!

I agree. I would buy one in that condition for $650 in a hearbeat. These are wonderful revolvers, and "they ain't makin' them no more." Every K-22 I've had or my family has owned has been used and loved with great results.

Maybe you already know this, but I will offer one tip about this gun. The extractor rod has right hand threads. Even with the relatively light recoil of the .22 LR, the rod will back out occasionally. So check it for tightness on a regular basis. It can be irritating to have the cylinder lock up on you during an outing.

So buy it, care for it, shoot it a lot. You will fall in love.

I am with the others, paid about $600 recently for one;

I haven't noticed a price difference between the engineering changes. pre, no dash, -1, -2 if >90% all seem to go for that price at least.

Well, I went back down to the shop and before I walked in the door, I decided to offer $650 out the door. If they wouldn't take that I was going to walk.
I gave it one more good looking over and made my offer. They took it.
That about wiped my gun fund out for a while, but I have a really good example of a gun I have been wanting for a while.
I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the nudge guys. I feel like an alcoholic that went to a bar asking if I should attend an AA meeting. Maybe I will go after I have another beer.

Here in the mid-Atlantic, any k-22 in decent condition without box or anything else would be worth $600 minimum, usually $700 or more.

Well, I've got a 4 screw pre 17 in better condition than the gun you describe and I've got $100 into it so I think $650 is a bit high ;)

Wingmaster, you bought the gun before I could pile on and add my vote to everybody else's, so I'll just say congratulations. Good buy.

In terms of collectability and value, I tend to lump all five-screw and four-screw K-22s together whether they have a Model number stamped on them or not. At the three-screw level I may start shaving my value assessments a bit just because more of the later guns exist. But they are all fine revolvers, and everybody should have one.

In 1975, I bought a can of Spam for 49 cents. Like a dummy, I ate it. Today, that same can of Spam goes for $2.79 in Fairbanks. I think that's a bit high. Maybe there's a morel to this story. Maybe not.
