I was assigned as part of the security detail at Constitution Hall, February 1970
Sly was five hours late. Things got pretty restless. Had to call in backup.
When not on drugs, they could put on one heck of a show.

I saw that earlier today. My Junior High years. Brings back so many memories. If one only had one of his (their) albums or 8-track tapes, that one album was probably "Stand." He was a helluva talent. Take PEACE to heaven one step Higher!

He was definitely a trail blazer. His bassist, Larry Graham, is credited with being the first to use thumb slap bass on a solid body electric.
