Doing constant projects coordinated with others on this site. Recently after weeks looking on Gun Broker (blown away every Sunday night) for K frame donor for another .327 Magnum conversion, big surprise. While shooting at the local range / gun shop each Saturday informed them looking for a beater trade-in,, condition not an issue just using the frame. Today sitting among expensive stainless and pristine trade-in revolves was the grimly M-19-2 for $375. This was a consignment sell with an uninformed owner's price, if the stores had processed to presentable the price would have been $799 by them. Like so many other stories read here, at home, as I progressively cleaned it found it had no holster wear and is in exceptional condition.
Since the project .327 mag will be with 6" barrel, and how the round grip compliments the short barrel on this gun, very apt to leave this beauty just the way it is.
Know these type encounters like to be read so thought I'd share.
Do know as to receipt not 4" barrel, sales people only know auto's, all the better for me.

Congrats. I prefer the round butt myself. I'm converting a M15 to a 6" .327 Federal Magnum.

You can probably sell the barrel and cylinder for more than what you paid for the revolver. Use the extra funds towards the conversion. :)

We should remember that during the first decade of the last century, many 6 1/2" barrel S&W revolvers had the round butt. In nearly the first half of that decade all of them did. :)

brief first day testing

Grouped comparatively with my 4" in an abbreviated session, very comfortable too. Both too nice to use in converting so the search goes on for a donor frame.

No way would I part that gun out to make something else; you don't find so many pristine older guns hiding under a coat of crud that you can afford to make Frankenguns out of them. Load and shoot that one, is all I'd do to it.

The donor gun chosen will receive a .327 mag cylinder and a .32 cal barrel not parted out. This procedure is easily reversed on all my conversion switches just those two components. I have a dedicated Jet mag (no.22lr option) , that can easily go back to it's politic M-15, a .327 mag (with conventional and a spare full lug version) that also can go back to a M-15, and Model-28 conversions to many to list.

Also have those too pristine to even think of messing with. That's why out to find an old rusted pitted beater or just a frame as have been doing.

Very nice. Still looking for that Unicorn, Model 19, RB, 4" barrel, the old Naval Investigative Service model.
