Here is a model 19-3, 2.5 inch. I had the opportunity over the weekend to do some shooting. The load used is a 158 grain SWC and 6 grains of Unique. The distance was about ten 'steps'.

Nice! I love shooting my snubbie 19-3. They are great guns!!

One of the "sexiest" guns ever made....sorta like a Buggatti-looks like it moving a hundred miles an hour - standing dead rock still

I have a love hate thing with those Hogue Bantam grips. I love how they feel, but I hate the way they look. I have loaded and shot that exact same load. Stout without being crazy.

You got yourself a dang fine gun there. I carry one everyday, but those rubber grips put me in mind of
snow tires on a Maserati....;):D

I know what you mean, I have a nice pair of factory combats that go on it but they are in perfect condition so I don't want to scratch them.

It looks like in the picture (atleast to me) that it has target trigger and hammer... is that the case? How common is that on short barrel guns like that?

My 19-3 has the target hammer and trigger. The little research that I did on mine showed that it was not very common. I actually like the feel of the target trigger.

Here's mine...

It doesn't have a target hammer but it does have a target trigger. It came that way when I bought it.

Nothing prettier than any barrel length Mod 19 with a TT and TH. Blue or nickle, a fully loaded 19 that can include a WO and RR matches the aesthetics of any premium S&W ever made....

Whether or not you like the feel of any of those options the look of that combination creates one of the best appearing handguns ever made.....

Nice looking guns, jubela#4 and MacA!:)

Regarding the Hogue grip...
I have magnas and a T-grip for my Model 19-4, and I have shot it with them, using 357 mag ammo. No problem, and I shot it well.
But, I do use that Model 19-4 as my HD weapon...as much as I like the magna/T grip, I had to admit to myself that the Hogue bantams fit my hand better, and give me a better grip. They fit the grip frame just about perfectly, unlike the Pachmayr compacts I also tried.
So, my Model 19 snub wears the Hogues.

Good shooting there with your classic 19. I'm really amazed at how accurate them little powerhouses are. Carry a 1911 but have swapped over to a 2.5" 66-2 for outdoor duties. Have it loaded with 158 gr. Speer Gold Dots in .357 mode.

Most shoots are close to that distance. That group would definately get the job done.
