I had a great day at the gun show on Saturday! Unloaded a few items and was able to pick up a Smith that I've been looking for. This Model 19-3 with a 2 1/2" barrel has 99% of its original bright blue finish. Only a pinhead size bit of blue wear on the left side of the muzzle and a turn line that is almost invisible.
The only downside was the Goodyear grips, which have been temporarily replaced with borrowed stocks from a Model 64 round butt that belongs to my wife. I'll be seeking correct stocks for the 19-3, since my wife isn't too happy about the Pachmayrs that are now on her revolver!!!
The serial number on this Combat Magnum points to shipment in 1973.
Let me know how you think I did at $500 OTD. (It took a little bit of negotiating . . .)
Sorry for the flash photos, but we still don't have a lot of good sunlight up here yet!
Jack
Two 19-3 revolvers getting acquainted!
Here is a photo of the new snubby with another dash 3; this one with factory nickel and a 4" barrel. This was also a gun show acquisition a couple years ago. I paid less for this one than I did for the 2 1/2".
