Model 19-4

Observing a Model 19-4 w/2.5" barrel and round butt (Blued) I noticed a "Gap" between the rear of the front sight ramp and the front of the rear sight. Is this normal? Everything else appeared normal. Serial number #78K4850

I looked at some photos on-line. All showed no gap.

How big of a gap?

The rear sight of a 2.5 M19 goes all of the way to the end of the frame so there shouldn't be much of a gap.

I'd suspect somewhere along the line a sight from a 4 or 6in gun has found it's way on there, they're about 1/4" or so shorter than the 2.5in sight

The gap is approx. 1/8" to 1/4" in length.
