I unloaded my 2 1/2" Model 19-5 this morning (good thing) and was handling it and now the cylinder won't open. The latch moves fully forward and the little pin in the end of the ejector housing moves out a little when I push the latch forward, but the cylinder won't budge. I tried it on each chamber and by rotating the cylinder to a half-way point between 2 locking recesses. Only had this revolver for a few months and it has always been a little difficult to open. I suspect it's the ejector rod pin at the back of the cylinder. I was going to open up the side plate (I've done this on several others). Any ideas!

oh yea, it will still dry fire just fine.

hold the ejector rod and rotate the cylinder to the left this will tighten the rod, when it opens you need to tighten the rod more it has left handed threads.

Excellent! That was easy. Thank you Mr. Gore. I just held my thumb on the checkered part of the ejector and dry fired it a few times and viola! I felt it spin until it hit bottom.

brownell's makes a tool to clamp on the ejector rod to tighten it ,but put some fired cases in the cylinder before tightening. don't use lock-tite on it.you can clamp the ejector rod in a padded vice and tighten carefully but turning the cylinder after it is removed from the gun.
