Recently purchases I carry comp has a pretty decent trigger except for the last stage of the double action pull. It is fine until the hammer stops but as,you pull the last bit there is a distinct rubbing feeling. I can’t determine if I is the rebound slide, the rebound spring rubbing in the slide or something else. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thank you.

Could be what's called "long ratchets". Sometimes the ratchets on the extractor are not properly fit to the hand, so they interfere with the hand's passage up the hand window and past the ratchet during the final part of the trigger's rearward travel. Once the cylinder locks into place, further upward movement of the hand (further rearward trigger movement) can cause resistance that is felt in the trigger.

This can often remedy itself though dry firing and use. Some ratchets are so bad, they need to be finish cut to function properly.

Thank you both. As I see it the cylinder and hammer both stop and lock and the trigger moves rearward just a tad. The rubbing could just be felt more because the rest of the firing mechanicals have stopped. I am thinking the hand has stopped when the cylinder locks? The rubbing is felt after that.

Once the cylinder locks, the hand goes on up past the side of the ratchet, with the cylinder not moving any more. You can see how this works with the sideplate off, looking in from the back. Take out the mainspring and hammer before cycling the action with the sideplate off.

Thank you, I will take a look when I have the plate off.

I have seen this a lot on newer guns of the last few years manufacture.

Shot it, dry fired a bunch and took the side plate off again. The hand did not appear to be binding but after all the dry firing I noticed wear marks on the bottom inside of the side plate above the trigger. Reassembled and sure enough there was no gap on the plate side between the plate and the trigger. As the trigger is pulled there is a slight bulge in the trigger and it was rubbing pretty good at the end of the trigger stroke. Stoned it down and polished and all is good. Much better, thanks again for all the ideas.
