Model 1902

Hello,
And thank you for your comments.
I did not find the solution to send photos ...
My S & W is in less good condition than FIFTHWHEEL'1917 ...
Mine works well in double action.
But there is a problem in simple action. Indeed, it often does not hit because the hammer falls into the bouncing position.
By removing the cover plate, I can see what's going on but I can not explain it for an automatic translation ...
Have a good day
Joel

Very nice model 1902 indeed. Congrats with that great find. I do have only the model 1902 second model. But I do like that revolver very much. I collect all K-frame Military and Police revolvers. I like the development of it. OK call me over percousious. I hate when there is nitro loads used in this old blackpowder revolvers. Never tryed it and will never do so. Just my two cents.

Thanks a lot for your help Wiregrassguy.
I will "operate" this afternoon but with great care because I have a lot of respect for this ancestor.
If I do not find the solution, I will try to find a very serious and competent gunsmith

Wiregrassguy,
Please, can you explain to me what is : "a condition called "push off."
It's an option? a manipulation?
thanks in advance

"Pousser" est une condition dangereuse où le pistolet est armé en une seule action et qu'une poussée sur le marteau provoque sa chute. Dans votre cas, vous ne pouvez pas maîtriser le poil à simple action en raison de l'accumulation de saleté sur le poinçon ou de dommages causés au marteau ou à la gâchette.

"Push off" is an unsafe condition where the gun is cocked in single action and a push on the hammer causes it to fall. In your case, you cannot get the single action sear to cock either due to dirt buildup on the sear or damage to the sear or hammer.

Thank you so much.
I opened the revolver and it is clean.
I put a photo on the following link
S&W 1902 - Google Photos
I understood "Push off". This is exactly what happens to me.
However, in this case the mate does not hit, the hammer remains behind.
When I hold the revolver in a quite amazing way by operating the trigger with the middle finger, in simple action it works ...
