A friend just called me to ask about a gun he had. It turns out the Navy SN and S&W SN are in the second 1000 guns of the Model of 1902 Navy. From his description the walnut stocks are correct for the gun. I won't get to see the gun for a few weeks but I will try to get him to send some pictures of it. Of course I will post them when I get them. All the other marks are there and the description he gave indicated it is in pretty high condition for something that is well over 100 years old.
