What height rear sight do I need to have my M1911 .45aco print higher?
The original GI rear fixed sight has the weapon impacting lower than the POA.

It depends on multiple factors - the sight height now, and how low its impacting being the main ones. A taller rear sight will work or slower heavier bullets will typically hit higher. Have you tried different ammo?

Go to Dawson Precision dot com. They tell you how to calculate the proper sight height to make corrections. They can also fit /install a new sight for a very reasonable price.
p.s. Not that not all S&W1911's use the same sight cut. Best to be specific if/when talking to them.
