I bought a remake of the old 1950's style model 22-4 in .45 acp back in 2008 and haven't shot it yet!

Where can I find half moon and full moon clips for this beautiful gun? Not sure what kind to buy or from where.

Thanks in advance!

I prefer the Ranch Products moon clips. They were the company that helped S&W make the modern full moon clip. Because of this, I have found them to be the least expensive option.

The website list by Muley Gil is different from what I remember. It is not searchable, nor does it seem active. Not sure what is going on there.

I looked several places, many are out of stock. Several are high priced.

Speedbeez seems the least expensive

Been real busy ... 2008 and haven't shot that 22-4 ... Wow !

What you wainting on ...
Louisiana Swamp People ... say ... Choot It Gringo ... Choot It !

You don't realy need no moon clips ... we would use a pencil to poke the empties out ... shot up a case of G.I. surplus ammo one summer and never had nothing but a #2 Pencil !

When I bought my 22-4 I picked up a bunch of full moon clips from Ranch. I have dabbled in the half-moon clips as well as the clips that hold only two cartridges, but much prefer the full version.

Get a loading tool too - great time saver!

My recently sold Model 25-2 had come with a bunch of half-moon clips, several full moon clips, and at a LGS closing I was given 2 boxes of factory S&W full moons.

Most people homemake a de-moon tool but this one in a bag with some full moons was never used by me.

What was used very heavily, was the BMT Loading Tool...man-o-man.. in just a few minutes (very few minutes) I would have ten (10) full moon clips loaded and ready to go to the range. If your range is charging time by the hour you don't want to waste that time loading moon clips by hand.

Last I knew, years ago, the BMT loaders were about $100 shipped...but worth every penny!

Full moon clips

Many, Many years ago I found a place to buy 45ACP full moon clips at 19 cents each! Of course I bought them by the 100 packs! I still have all that I bought, never have lost or damaged one(yet)! Then came 10mm at 56 cents each! Well, the picture tells the tale and that ain't all of them!

You see 45 ACP, 10mm, 40 S&W, 38 Super, and 9mm full moon clips! .
Load clips at home and shoot at the range. You better reload or go broke buying factory ammo for this many full moon clips!

I have a 1917 Brazilian Contract and a 625. Brownell's sells bags of 100 full moon clips. I have 200 of those and a few of S&W's half-moon clips that came with the 625. Whatever brand you buy, get a mooner and de-mooner!

The 8 half-moons are loaded with factory SD ammo, about 150 full moons are loaded with my standard cast target load.

I bought the RIMZ from Brownells. I have 1 pack of 5 with pack showing 625.
I checked and Brownells does not have them listed.
