In an article by Brian Pierce in Handloader, he said someone at S&W told him that they intended to make a new run of the Model 22 .45 ACP revolver. Has anyone heard of this?

I'd like to see it happen as well. I have a 21-4 and would love to have a 22-4 as it's stablemate

Well if by NEW you mean something built in the year 2020+, then no I have not heard of them
I have one of the Model 22 Thunder Ranch Revolvers from a dozen or so years back. Mine came with the half moon front sight, but it was one of the early ones that had the wrong height. Naturally the Factory took care of it.
I was very happily impressed with how well this one shoots. I need to find a Color Case Hardened version at the same time I have spare cash in my pocket. I really like how those Doug Turnbul frames turned out
While it does not have any functionality, I do like that the Factory has gone back and added that screw at the top of the side plate. This is a hold over from the Heritage series and we now see many of these newer 4 screw frames even on production guns, just kind of nostalgic
Some of you that know me are aware that I have a thing for serial numbers, I got lucky stumbling on this one. My Model 22 Thunder Ranch Revolver will never be sold as long as I have the strength to pull a trigger. This photo should tell you why

I have since removed the original grips in favor of a set of targets.

When the TR 22-4 came out, I knew that I had to have one.

I have one of the Color Casehardened Model 22, s. I won it in a gun raffle. It is a Good-looking S&W, and it shoots good to.
