My Model 25-5 serial # BAN 610* has a problem.
Brought about 20 years ago for 250.00, has been shot very little over the years, but is very accurate.
Last time I shot it, noticed the cylinder was tight turning, stopped shooting and set it aside till got home.
Upon cleaning, noticed the cylinder would move straight back on the yoke and stop when it hit the grips.
Not a Smith person by nature, but this does not look good.
Sent off a note to Smith on how to return for repair.
Any thoughts or suggestions on what happened?
Standard loads.
Pictures are not great, but can see what I'm talking about.

25-5

either the crane is bent so that the cylinder will slide by the stop on the frame, or the stop is missing or worn down, either way factory fix required.

I would check to see if the ejector rod has worked it's way loose. If it has it's a free fix.....just screw it back in!! May be something much more complicated but I always try the simplest fix first...Good luck!
