Model 25

I'm new to the forum and wanted to do my first post. I recently got into revolvers and I've made a few purchases in the past few months. This is one of them.

S&W model 25 45 ACP model 1955.

That looks like a nice one! Welcome to the FORUM from Michigan! I have a 625 JM (4") and a 25-15 in 45 Colt. Both are keepers. RIMZ poly moon clips work great for 45ACP. No tools to fuss with. Bob

A LGS has had one (I think it may be a 45 Colt) on consignment for several weeks. Asking price is $1750...I didn't even ask to 'handle it'!

Nice looking 25 you have there! Welcome to the FORUM from Michigan! Bob

OP, congratulations on your new-to-you Model 1955!
You definitely did well at the price you paid.

In January 2020, I paid $1,000 (even) for my 1980 example. I felt happy with that price then, as I do now.
And, yes... a joy to shoot. No moonclips or tools required.

-Bill

I'll post this again. Because it gives me a warm feeling.....

That's offhand shooting. I shot the 4. Moved the sights and shot the 5. The very first shot of 10 was 5-6" above the 4. Then a sight adjustment down. Yes a sight adjustment on one shot. Fundamentals, ya know.

Oops the second pix didn't come thru. I'll get back to you in 2-3 business days

Here it is

The inset is with factory JSWC from the Ransom Rest

I bought my first model 25 (a 25-2) brand new in 1977. Try not to cry when you look at the receipt...

In 1977, that would have been a 2-week paycheck for me. Sheriff's deputies in East Alabama didn't get paid much. :(

Serial number on mine (above) indicated 1955. Letter says shipped in 1957. To Hawaii. Now in Oregon
Just curious, but did your gun ship to Honolulu Sporting Goods? The reason I asked is I have a 44 Target Model of 1950 that shipped to them April 20, 1954. It's the only gun I have (I think) that shipped to HI.
