Model 27-1

Just how rare are 27-1's. I just ran across a 6 inch barrel 4 screw revolver with original magna grips with matching serial # S2210xx.

SCSW says they go for a premium. Looks like it was a one year run. Made them in 1960 and the -2 came along in 1961.

If the price is right we'd love to see pictures. What kind of condition is it in?

I have a 28 no dash, 6", from 1960. The 27 would be a great shooter as my 28 is. It is a gun that I am not planning to let go! Let us know if you get it. Bob

Just how rare are 27-1's. I just ran across a 6 inch barrel 4 screw revolver with original magna grips with matching serial # S2210xx.

The 27-1 was a short run but really only changed the direction that the ejector rod threaded into the cyinder (from RH to LH).
Collectors that want every Model 27 revision will usually pay a premium for dash 1's but if your looking for a 27 to shoot and it has a hefty premium consider that the only difference between the 27 no dash and the 27-1 is the direction the ejector rod screws into the cylinder.

In a way the 27-1 is like a transitional gun that got its own model revision.
The 27-2 was the first version with the new three screw frame but continued using the same LH ejector rod as the dash 1,
In other words the dash 1 isnt a better gun for the money just not as many out there so collectors pay more for them in clean and original condition ,
If the gun is not clean and original a large premium may not be warranted .

Yes that's what mine looks like. A little freckling on the side plate and muzzle wear. Beautiful blueing. OTD for $450. Plus NJ tribute. Serial S221019
