One of my Model 27 no dash revolvers has a post 1982 cylinder. Are there any issues with installing a cylinder from a 27-2 that I should be aware of? I have a line on a complete 27-2 cylinder assembly with crane.

Just to make sure I am reading correctly, you happen to own a no-dash Model 27 with a cylinder that does not have recessed chambers?

I find this interesting, I did not believe it was possible for the recessed/non-recessed to swap.

In for the info, sorry I cannot help.

The only thing I can think of that would be different between recessed and non recessed is the cylinder lug at the bottom of the frame window. That can be changed out fairly easily if you can find the part. It wouldn't be all that hard to make one from scratch.

Since the M27-2 had the same type cylinder the no-dash had (recessed), there should be no issue. Once installed, make sure the front doesn't scrub the forcing cone, and the timing is correct (ratchets worn/not worn) Also look at the extractor rod for right or left hand thread. (Dash 2 should be left-hand).
