I finally got in my 1978 Model 27-2. I found the grips to be to big for my hands. I bought a set of Hogue Pao Ferro monogrips and they're very nice. However there is about a 1/4 inch gap between the back strap and the grip. Is this something that's easily remedied?

Dang. Well still they're very nice and fit mostly great .

Does the grip shift around with the screw tightened ? You obviously don't want to overtighten it and bend/warp the stirrup. If the fit is pretty good you could try fitting a hardwood wedge to plug the gap.

I'll call them. The retaining screw is pretty much bottomed out.

Took off the grip, examined it. Even if I sanded a little wood down, it would throw off the fit at the top.

I had problems with a set of round butt conversions to square. They would not go on. I called , and talked to a woman in customer service. She told me that they would go on. I did what she told me and they cracked. They sent me another set free. I returned the cracked ones. The new set was hard to get on also, but they worked. You MAY want to call them, but they will probably tell you that it's normal. Good luck! Bob
