I have a Model 28-2 serial no. N82XXX which has a 6" barrel with no under lug.On the left side of the barrel is stamped S.R.SMITH.The revolver also has pacmeyer grips.Been doctored maybe.Where is a good place to purchase "original style "grips.Regards Daffy.

Grips show up on most of the auction and For Sale sights.

eBay would be a good place to look.

No underlug you say? Possibly a PPC revplver.

I see model 28 barrels all the time on ebay so if you want the real deal its not a big problem.

No "maybe" about it, that is a modified M28. Original configuration included the ejector rod shroud and besides, who the heck is "S.R.SMITH"?

I would not worry about the stocks (grips) as much as I would the barrel if I wanted to "restore" it. There have been some 4" M28 barrels offered for sale in the Forum Classifieds for about $100 lately. You can always be on the look-out for stocks.

If you do not want to restore it, what's wrong with shooting it as is? If it works, what's wrong with the barrel? And the Pachs should be as good as any (and better than most) for shooting. After all, you bought it as it is, didn't you?

Pics are in order. Not to answer your grip question but some here want to see the 28.
As for the grips and as mentioned, ebay, gunjoker and classifieds here are places to check. Being yours is a 6", it prolly had relieved target grips but the pachs are ok for rubbers.
