What is a good and fair price for a model 28-2? I am looking for a four inch gun. There seems to be alot of different prices here where I live. Thank You

Prices for 28s are all over the place. I paid $375 for a 4" in about 97% condition about a year ago. BUt I ahve rarrely seen any in person that low in the past 2 yrs or so. I also see them up to $599 in similar condition.

Generally, in my neck of the woods,(eastern PA)$450-$550 will get you a great condition 28.

I paid $400 in June. I see offered them from $400-$550.

It must have been right at the transition to the -3 as it is recessed but not pinned - Kinda neat!

Thanks for all your answers. I just bought a 28-2 today for $595.00. It has a faint turn line and it is in very good shape. The serial number is N5158XX. Would anyone know when it was made? I think it was the late seventy. Thank You

I bought this one a year or so ago. Can't remember if I paid $425 or $475. Anyway it was as close to NIB as you get.

I bought an earlier one a couple of weeks ago with serial Number S1913xx. 6" barrel and in excellent condition but no box. Hard to figure what I paid as I bought 4 guns off the ole boy. He told me he figures he bought it 1959.
