Model 28 vs 28-2

I know what the differences between the two variations are, but why is 28-2 more desirable than the 28 no dash?

In like condition,older is perceived to be better to a collector.

Gosh, who says it is? The 28 w/o dash was only made for 3 years; the -2 for about 20.

I say this because almost every 28-2 I see is bringing has a higher asking price than 28 no dash in similar condition.
