Hello everyone, I'm new to this web site. I have a question about a S&W. It's a model 29 44mag with a 10 5/8 barrel. What is this revolver really worth?? I have no clue to it's true value. If you know and could help e-mail me or tell me where to look. Thanks

I bought one in excellent condition March 2008 for $775.
Now if only I could see as far as it can shoot.

One of these?

Hey waydog, weclome aboard! ! Is this gun for a collection or shooting? What comes with the gun you are looking at(box, presentation case, ammo, etc)? If your gun is for a collection buy one in the highest condition and with the most original items! Also, the serial number has an effect on a gun for a collection. The first year guns, 1983, were numbered in the N frame series with an "N" prefix and 6 numbers. The later guns are in the "ABCxxx" serial number system. A typical price for one, with the original box, would be around the $775 number mentioned. An N serial number prefix would command a higher price and a presentation case would probably add at least another $200 to the price. There are two different cases for these guns and the guns were not shipped in these cases. They were purchased from S&W as after market items. The pic shows both types of cases and the gun on the left is an N serial prefix. The gun is the center is a REAL DEER KILLER!
