model 29-2 value help

Looking at a 29-2 nickle 8-3/8 barrel No accessories or box,in 98% + condition .Rough value please . Well with the answers from forum members i decided to pass on the 8" 29-2
So they has another 29-2 with a 4"barrel nickel plated S serial # and complete wood presentation box.it.IT came home with me was as close to a factory new as could be pictures later

My experience has been that long tubes are a "love it or leave it" attitude among most gun people. One either likes them or doesn't as a shooter, collector, accumulator, etc.

Same with nickel finish...some really like it, some avoid it like the plague.

So...nickel usually brings a slight premium (say $100) on most S&W revolvers, long tubes sit a lot longer in LGS display cases around here.

No box, no docs or tools, or wooden presentation case, makes yours a little easier........I would venture $1,000 for the right buyer (likes long tubes, likes nickel). Hardly see ANY used revolvers lately so maybe higher in these crazy times, but I do think you would have a happy seller, and a happy buyer right at $1000.

The best way to gauge it is to search gunbroker and see what they are going for currently. I will say that right now, looking at the prices on gunbroker, if I were a seller and only got 1000, i would NOT be happy.

I would guess closer to $1200-1300, perhaps higher depending on its degree of 98 percentness.
