Model 29-2

Okay so I have bought a S&W model 29-2 with 8 3/8 barrel and Im wondering how old it is.. most of the sites I look at have 6 digits for the serial number and mine only has 5.. Idk. Ill post pics and see if you can see what im talking about. If you need anymore details let me know. It says N21205 and that other number below by the cylinder it is 66699.

Your 29-2 was most likely shipped in 1972. The other number is the assembly number that is stamped on certain parts to keep them together during the manufacturing process. I have N21406 (29-2, 6 1/2-inch, nickel) that was shipped on September 20, 1972.

1972 wow that's great thank you so much. Would you have a rough estimate on the price of it? I honestly dont even know if i got screwed or not I just really been wanting one.

The 29-2 looks to be in great condition and I would value it at $1,000. It would be worth a couple of hundred more if it had the original presentation case and accessories.

okay cool. i paid 1100. it came with this box with a lock/key and the little cleaning kit. I guess it wasnt too bad. thank you sooooo much.
