I bought this today at the gun show. It was an impulse purchase to say the least. I know nothing about these guns. I paid $700.00 from a private seller. Supposedly it is unfired. I cannot find and signs that it has been fired myself. If anyone can give me any information regarding this I would love to read it. I think I have to take the grips off to get to the serial # but have not done so yet as I don't have the right size screw driver to remove the small grip screws. Thanks in advance.

Open up the cylinder and look on the frame right in front of where the cylinder closes. It's should say 29-?. Probably a 29-2. It also probably has the serial # there starting with an S or N?

The grips should date to a 29-3 model or later, meaning they are not original. Any screwdriver that fits should work for grip removal (the one in your pic may even work).

I'm sure a real expert will be along shortly.

Dates to 1979-1980. I believe the correct grips would have a football shap cutout on the left panel, but I could be wrong.

You may be able to find a pair in the for sale section here if your interested. Or even some target presentation style.

Congrats on your purchase.

I would guess your 29-2 dates to late 79. A very nice revolver and well worth the price. A photo of the correct stocks for your revolver is shown below.

whatever you do...DO NOT used the sight adjuster tool in an attempt to remove the grips...its for the adjustable sights not unscrewing grips..

WOW ! I fired on like that back in 1979 that belonged to a friend. I never thought I would want on until I saw this picture. Looks like a great deal, If I saw one like thisa at a gun show or store at &00- I think I would have to buy it just on general principal now !

Congratulations on the purchase and for a very good price also.

Looks Like The First Pistol I ever Purchased.. Bought it in 1979.. I still have it...
