Model 29 with full lug barrel

S&W made Model 29s with a full lug from 1988 (Classic Hunter) to the Classic DX series in the mid-90s. However, all full lug Model 29s are a variation of the Classic series of revolvers.

other than in the Classic series?
No. And this has always puzzled me. Why make a gun that doesn't look like anything you have ever made before and call it a "Classic?" I've never "gotten it" and I doubt I ever will.
If they wanted to make a "classic" Model 29, it would have 5 screws, a pinned barrel, recessed chambers in the cylinder and grips with diamonds on them. And only the ejector rod would be shrouded.
That's my 2-cent opinion.
Good luck in your search.

full lugged 29

Around the late 80's Lew Horton had some 29's made with a full lugged 5 in barrel and an Unflutted cylinder .I still have mine unfired. I think there were only 500 made.I'm not sure but I know it was a limited run.
