Model 34-1 barrel length and finish

My LGS has a S&W Model 34-1 for sale. We rarely see these kit guns here in Canada, and I figure it's because of our barrel length restrictions at 4.2 inches. (read all 4 inchers are a no go unless you have a prohibited class license, almost impossible to get now) So, it says this example is a 4.5 inch barrel, AND is finished in a matte black.

You can guess my questions. Was the 34-1 ever offered in 4.5? I don't think it was, so this is more likely a re-barrelled gun. Also, I don't recall a matte option, so I'm guessing this was a well used fishing tackle box gun, someone changed out the barrel a cerakoted it or something, and has sold it on. I haven't seen it in person due to the current 800 new covid cases a day in my region, so I'm going on a phone call.

I suppose it’s possible someone shortened a Model 35 barrel to make it Canada-legal. I’ve never heard of a production Model 34 with anything other than the usual 2- and 4-inch versions, which were polished blue and nickel.

I can't help but wonder if the shop owner is "stretching" the barrel because he knows he can't sell it if it is really only 4". I know what that implies, but I've also known enough gun shop owners to know that that sort is out there.
