I would like to be able to move the rear sight blade on my 34-1 more to the right, but it runs out of travel. Is there any way I can modify the sight so that it moves more to the right?

I'm trying to move Point Of Impact to the right.

Thanks in advance.

Length of the windage screw determines how far the sight blade will adjust left and right. If the screw is at it's arbitrary "stop" clockwise, (when looking at the screwhead) you are as far over to the right as you can go.

If this has always been a problem, you might check to see if the barrel is indexed correctly. If the barrel is canted right, then the gun may shoot to the left far enough for correction at the rear sight to be impossible.

Thank you. How difficult is it to disassemble the sight? I thought I might widen the groove a bit to the right. I'd also like to clean-up that screw head (slot).

It's not worth the effort to even file the rear sight blade IMHO. They are cheap enough and readily available (just measure before ordering) and should not take more than 10 minutes to remove and install. Then you won't have to chance a file slipping, uneven filing, re-darkening the sights, etc. And..... it will be a proper job IMO.
