I recently acquired a 36 no dash and it has a broken hammer spur. I have a "rougher" 36 no dash that I thought I could swap from but the hammers and struts are different. The "rougher" one has a strut that rides on pin in the hammer. The broken one has a rounded strut that sits in a groove in the hammer. I'm guessing this is newer and was replaced at some point or did S&W change sometime around 1961? Can I replace the rounded with the pin style? Thanks.

In 1962 there was a internal hammer alteration at serial number 295000. Don't know the answer to your question. But am curious myself.

For two model-marked 36s . . . yes . . . but you'll need to swap both the hammer and the strut as a unit. I believe the hammer springs are identical but would probably swap it as well.
