Wondering if anyone could help me with a Model 36 no dash I just picked up. I'm looking for age and approx value, may have over payed a lil but just had to have it. Serial # is 360xxx, the blueing is good with minor holster wear by the muzzle. Grips have minor wear but in good condition. The gun has a couple lil marks but fairly clean, no rust. I paid $400, thought it was a lil high but the bore looked like new and the gun looked like it had been carried some but shot very little, same plans I have for it. Thx for any help

I would guess 1963 as the ship year, and $400 in the current market is right in the middle of selling prices as you describe it. Enjoy!

I paid $450.00 about 5 years ago for my 36. It looks like new with out a box, but it fits my hand and I use it for my carry weapon. Mine is nickel plated. It's not factory nickel but it is a great job. Enjoy it you did all right.

Thx for the info. I had a 36 a while back that was a lil newer but with the design of it I could only find larger grips for it and really like the design of this one with the narrow smaller grips. The gun feels great in my hand and carries a lil easier than my 3" SP101.

I got a 36 no dash a few months ago in a "two-fer" with a M10-5. It is the same vintage, but sounds like mine might be in slightly better condition. I figure the M36 would have been in the $450-475 plus tax range if bought separately. Guns in this part of NY are typically a bit more costly than other areas of the country.

I'd say you did pretty well without pictures or knowing where you are located.
