I have a Model 36, 5-shot, nickel plated, 38 Special, snubbie that I would like to learn some history on. Is there anything like a tune-up on these, this gun is from the 60's. I would like to have it looked over by someone that understands Smith's, giving it a good cleaning and polishing, and making sure everything is in tip-top shape , as this may become a carry piece for my Daughter. Any and all Info will be valued, point me in the right direction. Thank you, Bob

By all means don't do like I did and do it yourself. You'll get hooked, then buy more J frames, get lots of parts and extra guns that you don't really need. :D
I put a spring kit in the first J frame I bought then ended up with several more revolvers because it worked out so well and the gun was fun to shoot.
I think if you read many of the threads here you will get hooked and do it yourself. It's not hard to do and this place is a wealth of information and help.
