Gents- I'm guessing at age here, so I might be in the wrong sub-forum. I have a model 36, 3" barrel, serial 116J37, unused with original box and paperwork. I am interested in when this revolver was made, and approximate value. Thanks in advance.

According to the published information, it is a late 1956 or early 1957 shipped gun. $600-650 would be in the range of current values if it is truly NIB. Did anyone mention we like photos? :) Hope this is helpful.

Took pics. Can't get them to attach.... Only pic I didn't attach is the one showing up. Weird.

Since the new ones come only with a 1.875" barrel and have an MSRP of $729.00 - and are not nearly as good as the one you have - I would say it's worth more than $729.00.

3" model 36 no-dashes (at least from what I have seen) don't come up for sale very often, and are rare.

There's a guy who has one on GB right now and is starting the bidding at $1.295.00. He probably won't get that for it, but it's worth watching.

If the stocks are original to the gun, it is not from the 1950s. Is there a letter and or/number in front of the number you quoted, like a J?

Typo. 116J37. Didn't see the 5. 116J37 on the butt and on the box.
