Im new here. I just got my first s&w. Model 36. Love it. Was tring to find its age. J232812 on bottom of grip. Mod 36 , 255x3 , g11 are seen when you open the cylinder. What do these numbers mean. Thanks

Congrats on buying the best "J" frame ever made IMO. It's the classic snub. My old worn nickeled 36 is ALWAYS on me and is still 100% reliable. I practice with it all the way out to the 25 yard line. It likes 158 gr. Speer Gold Dots which are right on target.
