Model 360 without logo or "Airweight" engraving

Quick update:
I finally bought some 357 rounds and they seem to fit good in the cylinder, I can close it and everything seems normal to me so just confirming that it's a 357, haven't shot it yet.. can't wait!!

Finally!!

Finally I got to go to the range and test the 360 and I may have fallen in love

I'll tell you guys quick how it went...
I didn't want to start with the 357s right away so I decided to start with 38s and then work my way up to 357s, so I set the target at around 8-10 yards and I started with cheap 158 gr FMJ 38 Special, they felt really good, not too much recoil and I was shooting very accurately in DA...
Then I switched to 38 +P 125 gr SJHP, I was able to tell the difference right away but still was shooting on target and grouping was fare, except for one or two shots that would hit a bit far from the main group (this happened with all different types of ammo' and It was basically me trying different trigger pulls, aiming one and both eyes, etc..)
Then I tried 357s 158gr FMJ and boy, that put a smile on my face but my shots were starting to move left of center... I decided to go back to the 38+P to relax for a second before going to the 357s 158 gr SJHP defensive ammo but by mistake I loaded it with the 357 defensive ammo and WOW, I wasn't expecting it and it caught me a bit off guard, they were way more powerful than the other 357 FMJ and yes, they hurt (my hand still hurts today, 3 days after), my accuracy went for a walk, and a few heads turned around at the range...
I can't wait to make it my carry gun, I just need to practice a bit more and she'll be ready to go

So happy with it, would def recommend it

Put some cushie grips on it for range day practice then go back to your carry grips afterwards. Your hand will thank you for it. ;)

Sounds good!!! I just carry standard pressure in my airweights. Anything more and I start anticipating and dipping very quickly.

I wonder if the factory would laser-mark just the side plate if you removed it and sent it to them? I have been watching these on sale from a fairly big eastern US seller for $449. They have one picture on the ad to which does show one which is correctly marked. But, they admit to using stock photos so who knows. Back to the sideplate markings, I assume they are laser marked but I do not know. As much as I like my 360J, $449 for a new .357 sounds pretty good!

The picture from the place I got mine said the same thing and it was also the picture of the regular one.
I think they would probably engrave it, Im not touching mine tho, I accepted its differences and I love it as it is lol

I just ordered one today and I hope it looks just like the OP's 360. I like the plain look.

Just as another view... the markings cut are through the finish to expose the raw, silvery alloy, right? Custom time!! When the special edition of one of the light weights was made up for air marshals or TSA or somebody, they had a unique logo that incorporated a two blade propeller IIRC. Boy howdy but that was sexy looking! OP, you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to have personalized engraving done, compliments of the folks at Springfield. Not saying YOU should have it done, of course, but if it were MINE...

My money is on this being a left over frame from the Japanese or some other big order. They put a 357 cylinder on it and sold it commercially. The serial number on the left side of the frame would be a sign that this frame started out for a bulk contract to some Govt. Smith never wastes anything so here we are. It's a neat gun and will serve just as well as any 360. If it were mine, I wouldn't do anything to it. No one can say if it will have some enhanced collector value down the road but I just wouldn't want to destroy it's uniqueness.

The engraving you are talking about... would it be on the side plate?
Is it possible to buy a plain black side plate?
Do you have a pic or a link to that logo?? Id love to see it
