Never had a J frame or any short barreled revolver. So last month at work a Model 36 is sitting on the counter behind me, busy day at the shop and didn't notice it until a friend that was picking up a transfer said "What's that behind you?"
It was a Model 36, 1 7/8", S/N from my book puts it 1958-59 era. One of the other guys saw it and was going to buy it but I beat him to it. Really glad too, while the bluing is not without some scars it's not bad. He told me that if he had got to it first he was going to have it Cerakoted, what a sacrilege that would have been.
So today I go in, only work a couple days a week and on the back counter is a pretty ornate gun rug. Curiosity so I open it. Inside is another Model 36, this time a 3" barrel circa 1982 and with almost perfect bluing. Included with it is a vintage Bucheimer holster. Couldn't leave it behind.
So now I have two J Frames.
