One of my current favorites...

No revolver of it's power class conceals better.
I have two model 37's and a 442.
The 442 is great for front pocket carry when I am in something other than jeans, like cargo pants, just think the hammerless look is kind of ugly.

My very first carry piece! That was the first Smith I ever owned and I'm still not done.
You'll find it sitting with it's brothers....;)

The 37 is my favorite lightweight J carry revolver. The two modern versions I have stay in regular rotation, and the vintage 1970s model comes out to play on occasion.

I'm surprised that the factory would put a nice matte finish on a gun (me like), then do flashy white lettering (not so much). Kinda defeats the whole purpose. 45wheelgun, is that a factory DAO 37-2 wearing those Thai grips?

Yes that is/was a factory 37-2 with factory bobbed hammer. Sadly that gun, with those grips was stolen from me, so be on the look out for it.

Now I search for a factory 37-2 to replace it with. I bought that gun brand new when they came out several years ago. Lots of excitement around them at the time because they were the first non-lock gun to be released by S&W since they put locks in them.

Makes me sad to think about it.

I'm a big pinned-barrel fan, but the 1995 (?) issue 36-2 and 2005 (?) issue 37-2 are two modern guns I'd like to own. Not only no-lock, but old-style frame & hammer-nose firing pin too!

Is the mod 38 pretty much the same gun other then the hump back with bobbed hammer?

May I join the herd please.
Bought new in 1978. Sunday go to meeting grips. Usually wears Pachmayr compacts in either a Lobo pocket holster or a Lobo slide on the belt.
