Stopped in a LGS and found a Model 37 Airweight, 90% + condition, SN J333xxx. Asking $295. Is it worth it and is it safe to shoot? Being an Air Force vet I know there were issues with the Aircrewman.

$300.00 for a clean Model 37 is a very good price. I have one and carry it on occasion. I use standard velocity loads only.

That is a fair price.

No one on the internet can tell you if an individual firearm is safe to shoot or not.

To make a individual safety determination would require a hands on examination of the firearm in question by a knowledgeable person or a gun smith.

Generally speaking, model 37s in good operating condition are fully capable of safely chambering and firing any and all modern 38 Special ammunition that conforms to SAAMI specifications.

That's a good deal, I'd go for it but as stated no +P ammo.
My first CCW handgun served me well and I still have it! ;)

Lots of good advice above, the 37 is a great carry revolver.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that you should examine it for the possibility of a frame crack, sometimes found on an airweight.
