I am a long time lurker here. I signed up a few months ago so I could see more photos. I really enjoy my time here looking and learning. I have several revolvers in my safe, including some Smith and Wessons. I am a shooter, all of my guns get shot. Ages ago, back when I was in the Army, I had a friend who had a huge Smith and Wesson collection. He got me started...
The weather was fairly nice today, so I decided to take my motorcycle out for a ride. Where to? A gun shop, of course! I went to a shop I had not been to before, not too far away, just for the destination, not really looking for anything in particular.
I made my way to the revolver display, it is a small shop, just one cabinet of wheelguns. I saw an older pretty blued Smith & Wesson snubby, and being a sucker for both older blued revolvers and short barrels, I asked to take a look.
Model 37 no dash
768JXX
Blued
38 Special
Pinned 1 7/8 inch barrel
The labeled price and condition seemed to be too good to be true, and they were willing to negotiate. Way lower than what I have seen on internet sales websites, and I rarely see them locally at all. Frame looks solid, lock up feels good. So, I have a new gun!
Any ideas about the age? How about the grips? Any other comments?
Thank you!
