I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson Model 39-2. I am looking for a good holster for it. Most of the holster makers start listing their products as fitting the Model 39-13. Do any of you know if the Model 39-2 and will work in a holster for the 39-13?

No such animal as the 39-13, its the model 3913 and it doesnt matter as the slide and barrel of the 39 is longer than the 3913.
If you look for a holster for models 3904, 5906, 5903, etc you will be able to use them for your model 39.
I carry my models 39-2 and 439 in a Desantis holster for a model 915 (a budget version of the 5904).

squidsix: Thanks for the information. I bought a Model 39-2 in 1971 or 72. I loved the firearm, but let it get away from me with the holster. I have been looking for some time for a replacement and finally found one. I really didn't keep up with all of the variations that were made after this other than the model 59.

No worries. The later guns hold more ammo and have more options, but they are absolutely not better than the 39-2.

The Models 39, 39-2, and early production (round trigger guard) 439/539/639 will fit any holster designed for the 39xx and 59xx pistols.

Desantis makes one. I am running mine in a full size 1911 holster, it fits rather nice.

I've long been fond of the Avenger type holsters. Bianchi sold them as Askins Avenger. I don't have a good pict of it.

I wore a belt that I picked up at Milt Sparks when his shop was still in Idaho City, Idaho. I actually paid Milt for the belt. I wore it almost every day for close to 40 years. I finally had retire it last year, and get a new one from the Milt Sparks in Boise ID. Yes they are still open. They still make 2 Nelson designed holsters, including the Avenger style. I have one of their Summer Specials for my 1911 Commander, and love it. I talked to them and they can make any of these to fit the 39.

Full sized single stack all metal S&W 9 or 40. There. I think a round trigger guard single stack Sig full sized works too, as the finger grip 5906 fits a Sig 226 holster really well.
