Model 39-2 Rear Sight

Beware the ejector depressor spring and plunger which are trapped beneath the rear sight. That spring can/will fly out and be forever lost.

Sometimes if pried up too hard the sight will snap and brake. Be careful, use a light touch.
If it should break, which I do not think it will, I have a spare.

One of the only improvements I ever considered worthwhile for the Model 39-2 is the addition of the factory optional replacement rear sight adjustable for windage as well as elevation. Good thing anyone reasonably competent ca follow the steps outlined above.
The other improvement is the addition of a Gen 2 or Gen 3 ambi safety. That's nearly as easily accomplished.
