Model 39 Nation Match

Well, I got it together. Got the stripped vent rib slide off ebay, another slide for the internals off eBay and bought a shooter 39-2 in a gun show. Put it all together and shot it yesterday. Works perfectly. I have been waiting for a shooter grade (cheaper than $600) model 39 no dash but haven’t found one, so I put it on the M39-2 frame.

That's neat, I just have a hard time trying wrap my head around the amount of work it would take to turn a Model 39 into a true national match pistol, especially considering that the 1911 in 45 ACP dominated matches up until the adoption of the Beretta 92 by the U.S. Army.
