I was looking at my newer (2012?) model 41 and noticed that the half-cock notch hits the sear. That didn't seem right, so I looked at my old (cocking indicator) 41. It does the same.
Both triggers are set up so they will fire with an 0.008" shim between the trigger and the over-travel screw.
I just checked, and even with the trigger guard down, effectively removing the over-travel screw, they still have the contact, just less.
Why are they designed like this? With the big bevel on the back of the sear it seems difficult to avoid.
Thanks, Mark
