So before I sent off my brand-new Model 41 back the S&W (for the second time! see this link for that sad story...http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...od-grief-s-w-strike-two-new-model-41-7-a.html ), I did shoot it with samples of all the various .22LR ammo I have. This was just a function test (due to the barrel issue) and some were chronographed. All info is based on 10-rounds per brand.
I have columns headed; Cartridge (brand/version/grains), Claimed (velocity), Chron’d (only those indicated - battery died - through my rickety chronograph), Plunk (meaning whatever that chamber test is where you drop a round in to see if it hangs up, or "plunks" all the way in...x = good!), FTE (fail to eject), Stove (stovepipes), and Duds (good strike but no "bang").
I don't know if this data has any value to anyone else, but here it is...
