Model 41 issue

I have having an intermitted issue with my 41. During reloads I insert fresh magazine, drop the slide, and pull the trigger but the trigger will not move.

When I rerack the slide, with a fresh round, the 41 will go bang.

Everything seems to be working fine. Any suggestions what to look for.

It sounds like the trigger sear is not holding in the cocked position when the slide closes. The internal hammer is "following" instead of staying cocked. Worn trigger sear and/or hammer notch, or there's crud in those places.

It's much more easily apparent on a self loader with an external hammer.
