I finally got my S&W factory letter for my early Model 41 (SN 46xx). It was shipped in Feb.1958 to the Marshall Field & Co store in Chicago!!
I remember going there as a kid to see the fancy firearms they sold there. And I also went to Aberchrombie and Fitch, when they were real outfitters and not a teeny bopper store. The pistol shipped with the
7 3/8 barrel, so I think the barrel on it is the original.
By the way, the wait time for the letter was about 14 weeks but was well worth it. Thank you Mr. Jinks...
