Model 41 serial # Confusion

I've got the Standard Catalog 3rd Ed and other sources like Jenks book but can't nail down the serial number on one of my 41's. I know these requests get old but I'm stumped. Seems that the guns pre ' A ' prefix with six digits are sort of open from 1963 to 1969. Somebody here has the answer

Model 41 5.5" ser. # 1110xx.

My guess would be toward the later end of that time frame.

I bought 994xx new in late 1968 or early 1969, if that helps. I think yours is very close to the beginning of the Axxx serial numbers.

My 112XXX is confirmed to be sent out in 1969.

Sometimes S&W didn't ship their products directly after being manufactured. Seems like the 41's would have shipped out faster though.

Sounds like this gun is late period from inception of the 5.5" barrel and up to the 'A' prefix. Anyway thanks for the info, now I'm wondering what this gun is worth as NIB all papers, tools etc. . I can't imagine it's worth less than these new 41's with all the QA problems but ?

Number 110521 was shipped in April 1969
Number 111115 was shipped in May 1969

I'd guess yours is from the spring of 1969. But S&W did not ship in serial number order so yours could be two to three months plus or minus.
