Thought this would be the best place to post this question.

I now own a model 41 with an adjustable target sight that I cannot find any information on. It appears to be S&W as opposed to after market.

I understand how it works and how to set it for the different distances, but I'm after any background info if anyone has any.

Thanks in advance

Looks like it works on the same principle as the S&W front silhouette sights. You are able to pre-adjust the sight for four different distances and select any one of the pre-sets by turning the main elevation adjustment wheel.

Aristocrat makes one of these, but it looks nothing like the one pictured in the OP. Can't find any others. No markings on the sight?

Adios,

While I have never seen this particular sight before, I am guessing it is an after market sight or modification. It looks like it has a quick and repeatable knurled adjustor on it for use at preset distances. Actually a neat idea!

Yep, a sight for silhouette shooting would be my guess. Actually very nice and well done. I as well have never seen one like it.

So, will a new Leupold Deltapoint (out of the box) mount in place of the rear sight currently used by S&W? From all pics (except a few) It appears that it should be a one-for-one swap. Thanks
