Hey i just found an Model 41 for $675 , it has the cocking indicator , and a 6 digit serial number that begins with a 6***** i should have grabbed pics and 3 magazines no box or papers , looked like a 5'' barrell but not 100% sure . Is that a fair price

If it's a certain 5" field barrel, I'd say twice that. Either way, $675, I'd say you just wasted time typing your post, when you should have been running to the ATM!

Great price, probably already in someone else's safe.....

Are you sure there is not an "A" in front of that serial number?
If it's a heavy barrel then it's a 5.5". A 5" would be a light barrel.
Either way, unless it's beat to death, that is a really good price.

The barrell length i am not certain of , the serial number i guess could have been a 5 digit number , but im certain no A in front of it , and im certain of the indicator

Too late, I'm sure it's already sold. Keep us posted as that is a great price and I would own a second one if I stumbled on one for that.

Then it would have been a mid 1960's gun.

Buy it now at that price. Even if its somewhat beatup you can rebuild it for still much less then the cost of a new one added on to the purchase price. You will be money ahead which you can spend on ammo. If its got the cocking indicator then it is from the 60's probably.

Hey I just found $325 laying the street. Not sure if I should go back and get it or not.

Josey you should tell me where it is and I'll gI've you a finders fee haja

Now you guys seem pretty knowledgeable on these recently I passed on a model 41 used in box but mint in the box in addition to the gun were 2 additional slides box hado all the insert I've never seen one for sale with 3 slides and barrel combos

Obviously the past owner collected all the different barrels to go with this gun and even got extra slides for them as well. Not unheard before but slightly rare to see all three with the extra slides with them also. Many owners have more then one barrel to go with their guns which is quite nice actually to have.

Barrie , no this one was sold like that as kit . I saw the box and the cutouts . I have heard of 2 slide kits that were sold . But this one with all 3 is strange . The box was definitely factory done. it was larger than the stanfard blue box and was correctly marked for it . Im trying to get more info as we try to work a deal . But trying to figure out the value of such a rare piece

If it hs the box which will be a custom unit I suspect it will be worth around $2500. to $$3300.00 as it is extremely rare kit. A collector will go crazy over a kit such as this because of the rarity of it.

Actually, I just left a LGS that had a 1967 Model 41, 5.5", with 2 mags. No box, has the indicator and was in VG shape. There was a minor scrape on the slide, chamber shows it's been used. $689. So the money is laying inside their case. No finder's fee necessary!

What's a guy to do?

I love to read those posts about "GREAT buys that stay in the LGS while I think about it". They're gone just when you go to buy them! Surely the LGS will accept a $10 deposit to hold it for a few days while you get your grey matter in gear!

Sound OK? Worth a try?

Agreed. I've left a shop, then called them and they hold guns without a deposit or even a last name! I just don't "need" anymore 41s. Though I don't have any with an indicator. Hmm...

So have I here in Canada. I would suspect almost all good shops will work with you this way. If it helps them make a sale then they are Happy to do it.
