Loooking at purchasing a Model 41. How much should I expect to give for either a good used model or a brand new one?

I recently bought a used but very good condition 41 with the cocking indicator and the comp for $850. This one is from about 1967 and shows the beautiful quality of finish that was done in that era. The new pistols are just fine for what they are, I think they are maybe a bit more than what I paid for the older pistol and they don't appear quite the same in the finish category. It would appear that anything around $700 is a good price for a shooter that has had some use and shows it, up to who knows what price for the really rare stuff.

I've seen new ones online for $985, and used ones in good condition being fought over on Gunbroker for around $600. I just paid $675 for a used early 80s model in excellent mechanical shape, but with some "what were they thinking?" light scratches on the flats.

So far, after 30 years of gun ownership, this is the only gun I wouldn't sell because of the less than pristine finish. It's that good at what it does.

I just bought one today for $699. It's a 1983 vintage 7 incher. It's got just enough wear that it'll never pass for new again.

I think they are worth the money, especially when you find a deal on one of the old ones. I will admit that I almost never buy new firearms, everything I want is at least 20 years old or more.

Just bought a new one at Cabela's. Sticker price was $985. I had a coupon that took $100 off if I spent over $500 and used my 500 and some dollars in Cabela points for using their credit card. Final cost to me was around $400. Not bad for a brand new one.

I bought two Model 41s last month. Paid 870 for a 5.5 heavy and 900 for a 1974 7 3/8" with suppressor, original box, two magazines, owner's manual, screwdriver, extra barrel weight. It's in pristine condition.

I just got one [ 5.5" 99% cond./5 mags, no box ] 2 weekends ago for $350 cash and a 4" SS Ruger GP100... after shooting it i am very satisfied with my trade

Thanks for the input guys. Goldenrod not that it matters for purchase reasons but do you know what year the gun is from. Are you looking for any trades? Also, do you have any pics I can get?
