I posted this question within another thread but decided to list it separately. I have an opportunity to purchase a 41 in excellent condition, 5.5" barrel for $450. What do you guys think. Should I go for it?

If you don't someone else will while your thinking about it. Usually a model 41 that sells for around $450.00 is not very pretty, and has been shot more than you could imagine. You will never lose any money on that gun.

I believe NIB is about twice that, so if it's in the shape you claim, that's an insane bargain (which would typically send off red flags, so be sure to inspect it closely, and if it's an on-line transaction, be wary). If it's FTF and looks good, I'd snatch it up asap.

A good friend of mine has it, he took it to settle a debt owed him and he does not want it, he is in to shotguns big time. I have taken it to the range and also cleaned it for him.

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

New 41s sell for somewhere around $1000. Assuming that it's in good shape it will amaze you with its accuracy and performance.
